Talk faster my ears are itching

“Talk faster my ears are itching.” These are the words that came to mind when I found out that I was being told “no” for the opportunity that was near and dear to my heart.

Imagine building an opportunity for two months hoping that it would come through, but it all ends in one final long email that pretty much says, “try again.” Have you ever tried so hard for something but never got the results for which you were longing?

How did you feel when you missed that opportunity that you were always hyped about?

Let “No” Motivate You!

I get told more “no” than “yes.” I wish I could show you. I wish there was a way to communicate that better. But the truth is, my eyes glitter when I am told no. My mind itches when I am told no. My smile flourishes when I am told no. Why? Because you’re doubting me! All it says to me is that I am not good enough. So I go back and put in more work. Next thing you know, I’m back knocking at your door asking you to rate me just one more time.

As blunt as it gets, that’s something I can’t give you. That’s something your parents and mentors cannot give you. That’s something your country and environment cannot give you. That’s something your loved one might not give you.

Courage

It’s called “Courage!”

An individual can teach about courage, but they cannot give you courage.

Courage is found in how much trust you have between your mind and your heart.

Do you know why it’s difficult for most people to believe in themselves? Because negative circumstances and rejections hurt the trust we have between the mind and the heart. Trust is something when taken away one cannot gain it back fully the way it originally was. All that is left to do is to get back as much trust as you can.

The Itching

Trials are always going to be there no matter what.

There was likely a time when a bad incident took place in your life and you were not expecting. “Why do I have to go through this?” you asked. You wish life could have had played things differently. Something else could have had taken place, but why that specific incident or circumstance?

We have all been in a situation where we have been denied to do something.

What do you do when you get fired from a job unexpectedly?

What do you do when things don’t go as planned?

Move on!

When that email came to me saying “no” I blanked out and did not know what to do next. But I kept in mind Holly Hoffman’s quote, “No one can go back and make a new beginning, but anyone can go back and create a new ending.”

We all have different stories and different ways of handling our misfortune.

What comes easier for you might be difficult for another person.

However, you have got to be courageous and move on! You have got to lift yourself up and stand up one more time and give yourself a second chance. Knowing that the past has no second chances is a first start of recognizing what the future might hold for you.

No one can change the past, otherwise it would not be the past.

No one can tell the future, otherwise it would not be the future.

The best thing to do with the past is to learn from it. The best thing we can do with the future is to plant seeds as a way to prepare for it while taking advantage of the present. The best thing one can do about his or her present is to live it to his or her fullest potential.

It does not do anyone any justice feeling lowly, defeated and small. But, on the other hand, we all do better when we uplift ourselves and strive for excellence.

As much as I would love my life to turn out as I plan it to be, I am also aware that there are going to be many bumps in the road. When faced with obstacles sometimes the best thing we can do is to keep moving forward.

When something is not working right, change your actions and do the unexpected.

When no one seem to understand your actions, make them listen to your ambitions.

Sometimes people ask me how I do what I do. My response? “I do my best.”

The turning point

When you are serious with your dream, make it your goal!

We all have dreams, likes and dislikes. But very few know the turning point.

The turning point is taking your dream from a dream perspective and turning it into your goal. When you get to the point where your dream is no longer just a dream but a goal that you have to start, things turn out to be different. You begin to act differently, think differently, and even talk differently. This is because you are now on the path to your destination.

When you get stuck with the word “dream” in your head, it suggests that it is something that has a specific beginning to it. Unfortunately, it does not communicate to you when you should get started with it.

Dream and wake up!

Do not get comfortable with dreaming. Wake up and start living your dream by going after it. That is the most rewarding action you can ever take. When you begin making your dream a goal and start working on it, nothing is going to stop you from living your life to your fullest potential.

I took my dream and converted it into my goal and life has been nothing but an opportunity that I must cherish every moment spent.

As you climb the walls of greatness, keep in mind that success is measured in a bigger picture but comes in accomplishing smaller things.
